Supporting Antrim Grammar School’s Biodiveristy Team

As part of our ongoing corporate and social responsibility strategy, we are committed to establishing and growing our links with education, by engaging with schools in our local area. Metal Technology are honoured to continue being an industrial ambassador for Antrim Grammar School, whose fantastic Biodiversity Committee have been tidying up some of the planting areas for Autumn and sprucing up the Greenhouse.

We’re excited to support the pupils as they learn more about the importance of biodiversity in the construction sector and how Metal Technology, through responsible land management and conservation practices, aim to contribute to the health and resilience of local ecosystems. We’re delighted to play our part in educating today’s students on the construction industry.

Metal Technology rises to Platinum Level at NIEBS 2024 Results Ceremony

Northern Ireland’s most environmentally conscious organisations have once again been revealed at an event to announce the results of Business in the Community’s 26th Annual Northern Ireland Environmental Benchmarking Survey (NIEBS).

The survey allows organisations to be externally audited by EY and scored on their environmental efforts and performance. 132 organisations entered this year and we’re thrilled and very proud to announce that Metal Technology has achieved Platinum Level in our second year of taking part. Our Sustainability Champion and Technical Support Manager William McIlvenna was there to accept the award.

The event took place in the Titanic Suite at Titanic Belfast, and it was great to see so many local businesses acting responsibly. Big thanks to Business in the Community Northern Ireland for an extremely well run event. You can view the survey report here.

We are fully committed to reducing our Scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gas emissions by 50% by 2030 and are already ahead of target, as well as measuring and reducing our Scope 3 GHG emissions and reporting company-wide GHG emissions on an annual basis.
