Metal Technology’s commitment to the highest quality, recyclable materials with performance engineering has played its part in the Excellent BREEAM rating achieved by Arvalee School in Omagh, Northern Ireland.
The school, which caters for children with moderate and severe learning difficulties, is the first phase of a £130m project breaking new ground in shared education. The unique layout comprises a central spine with four dedicated offshoot ‘pods’ designed to maximise learning potential for children of various ages. Stringent timescales did not impact on use of the best products and methods in creating a school which is exemplary in both its design and its environmental performance.
Systems company Metal Technology was the perfect fit for this high specification project. System 17 high rise curtain walling and 4-20Hi + casement windows glazed with clear and coloured feature glass helped create welcoming, light filled spaces. This was complemented with System 5-20D Hi+ doors externally and System 10 commercial doors in some internal spaces.
All products from Metal Technology offer exceptional structural, thermal, acoustic and security performance. The Hi + range performance is further enhanced with bespoke thermal gaskets, cellular foams and special polyamide thermal isolators, all of which contribute to impressively low U values.
