RIBA-Approved CPD for Metal Technology’s Windows Selection Course
Leading architectural aluminium systems company, Metal Technology, is pleased to announce that its revised and updated ‘Windows Selection: A Specifier’s Guide’ has been added to the list of RIBA-assessed and approved CPD seminars for architects and construction professionals.
The CPD presentation, which has been a longstanding element of the Metal Technology training offer, has been updated to reflect the most recent legislation, current market trends and the latest Metal Technology products. It allows architects to assess aluminium window systems in terms of material, function and the performance values and standards required for modern buildings. Delegates will be guided through the advantages of specifying aluminium windows and doors and equipped with the knowledge to specify the correct window system for each project.
Specification guidelines include the correct window and door Security Standards for different applications, as well as an overview of glass selection to complement the window system’s security, thermal performance, solar control and acoustics. The seminar also looks at finishes and ironmongery.
Gordon McCaw, National Supply Chain & Partnership Manager for Metal Technology, commented: “Over the years this seminar has become an essential part of architects’ continuous learning and we are delighted that it is now been assessed and approved by RIBA for professional CPD. In addition to the application-specific learning, the seminar effectively highlights the infinite ‘Cradle to Grave’ life cycle attributes of aluminium as a sustainable building material.”
‘Windows Selection: A Specifier’s Guide’ is included under RIBA’s core curriculum subject, design, construction, technology and engineering. For further information, please contact Shaun Greene, on +44(0) 28 9448 7777 or shaun.greene@metaltechnology.com.
