NESS Energy from Waste

Aberdeen

Metal Technology design and manufacture bespoke fin, creating a striking façade for the NESS Energy from Waste facility

Located in East Tullos, Aberdeen, the NESS Energy from Waste facility processes non-recyclable waste from Aberdeen City, Aberdeenshire and Moray Councils and treats it cleanly, contributing electricity to the national grid and providing heat for Torry Heat Network, which, in turn, supplies low cost heating for schools, care facilities and social housing nearby. Designed and fabricated by TITAN Facades / TITAN Fabrications Ltd, the facility will provide a long-term, sustainable solution for non-recyclable municipal solid waste with the ability to process 150,000 tonnes of waste per year.

Utilising System 22 Brise Soleil, Metal Technology Ltd designed and manufactured a bespoke 3-part, hinged, 400mm+ vertical fin, which overlays Metal Technology’s System 17 High Rise Curtain Walling. The red and green architectural fins create an attractive façade, contrasting the aluminium roof’s curved, futuristic structure. Metal Technology’s System 10-35 Hi/Hi+ Commercial Doors were also installed in the project.
