Delivering high performance glazing for state-of-the-art Clydebank Health Centre

The £21.7m landmark building opened its doors in February this year, offering the Clydebank community access to a wide range of health and social care services under one roof. With 47,000 registered patients, the first-class facility houses 300 NHS staff and boasts the latest in digital and medical technology.

Metal Technology Ltd’s high performance glazing systems were utilised in the new Clydebank Health Centre through our trusted fabricators Avtek Ltd. The products used were: System 17 standard and projecting cover caps, and flush silicone pointed jointed curtain walling, System 5-35Hi+ T&T windows with integrated proprietary external LV023 Barrier panels and System 5-20DHi+ thermal doors.

The blueprint was designed by Anderson Bell & Christie for NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde through their development partner hub West Scotland. It was constructed by BAM Construction and is built on the site of the former John Brown’s shipyard. Designed with the local landscape in mind, the artwork inside celebrates the Old Kilpatrick Hills and the architecture showcases a Clydebank landmark, the Titan crane.

The new Health Centre is the much-anticipated ‘centre point’ of the Queens Quay regeneration project. As well as six GP surgeries, it will be home to physiotherapy, treatment rooms, podiatry, Care at Home, mental health services, sexual health services and more. It’s the second building completed within the Queens Quay Master Plan and together with Queens Quay House, West Dunbartonshire HSCP’s new residential care home, completes the Queens Quay Health Quarter.
