Passivhaus-certified Tain Community Campus
Delivered by Kier Construction for The Highland Council, the new £72 million Tain Campus brings together Tain Royal Academy, the newly named Tain Primary School and St Duthus School onto one single site.
Designed by architecture firm Stallan Brand, the state-of-the-art, Passivhaus-certified campus creates a modern learning environment for children aged 3 to 18 and includes a range of new community facilities including after-school access to outdoor sports pitches, a 2-court gymnasium and 4-court hall, and a dedicated dance and drama studio.
Metal Technology’s Passive House glazing systems were installed by fabricator Avtek – System 5-35D Hi+ Door, System 5-45 Hi+ Tilt & Turn Window and System 17 Hi+ Curtain Walling – and played a pivotal role in forming part of the building’s high-performance envelope.
