Hi+ systems for Wrexham HEIQ
Metal Technology systems have been specified for Phase 2 of the Health and Education Innovation Quarter (HEIQ) extension at Wrexham University, part of the University’s £80 million Campus 2025 strategy.
The two-storey extension provides classrooms, staff areas, a teaching and learning laboratory and a Hydra simulation suite, developed with the Hydra Foundation. The facilities support healthcare teaching, including simulated emergency scenarios to develop critical decision-making skills, alongside student study spaces and a new café.
Metal Technology’s System 17 Hi+ Curtain Walling, System 4-35 Hi+ Casement Windows and System 10-35 Hi+ Commercial Anti-Finger Trap Doors were specified for the extension. Finished in RAL 7012 and Tiger Regency Gold, the systems combine glazing, panels and louvres in a coordinated external façade. The package was fabricated and installed by approved fabricator CSA Systems, working with main contractor Wynne Construction and DAY Architectural Ltd.
