Blairgowrie Recreation Centre

Perth and Kinross, Scotland

Scotland's first Passive House Leisure Centre

The £36m ‘Live Active Blairgowrie’, delivered for Perth & Kinross Council, is Scotland’s first Passivhaus-certified leisure facility. The centre features a 25m swimming pool, a four-court sports hall, and a state-of-the-art fitness suite, setting new standards in sustainable leisure design.

A range of Metal Technology’s high-performance aluminium glazing products were installed by Linn-Tech Scotland Ltd for BAM Construction and Hub East Central Scotland. Our team provided technical support to Holmes Miller Architects in the specification and delivery of the following products from our Passive House range:

✅ System 5-45 Hi+ Passive House Tilt and Turn Window
✅ System 17 Hi+ Passive House Curtain Walling

Additional products installed include System 5-20D Hi+ Doors, System 10-35 Hi+ Doors, System 4-35 Hi+ Casement Window and System 23 Louvre, performing seamlessly together to deliver the desired aesthetic and performance standards.

It’s fantastic to see this high-quality, low energy leisure facility open for the local community to enjoy, delivering exceptional energy efficiency, drastically reducing carbon emissions, and ensuring a comfortable indoor environment for all.
